| Cancer Impacts Everyone |
Cancer is a powerful word and so misunderstood.
Cancer is a word that brings extreme and intense fear to anyone who hears
it. My life has never been hit with cancer, but several members of my family
and circle of close friends have experienced the diagnosis in their own life. I
remember hearing the words from my dad that my cousin had cancer at the age of
16. The news impacted my family, and my cousin started to really speak of the
condition. She lost her hair and stayed in the marching band as long as she
could. Cancer starts out with a diagnosis and ends up causing a fear so intense
that it sometimes seems that people who have had cancer for a long time, but
never knew about it, take a quick trip down hill in body and soul, once they
are alerted to cancer existing in their body.
She fought a good fight but told her mother one day that she didn't want
anymore treatment that she was tired and ready to go. Cancer is a condition
that impacts the bodies immune system and as such it triggers all sorts of body
responses.
Modern day medicine is revealing the power of placebo to treat cancer
patients and many new models of healing are being revealed daily. I think it is
so important that people who are given the diagnosis of cancer, also have
emotion work done to circumvent the fear and the effects of fear on the body
system.
My cousin has a scholarship fund now set up where she attended school called
the "Paige Foster" scholarship and it goes to the student who excels
in both music and academics. If you have been diagnosed with cancer, please try
to imagine your life without the disease. Take some time and deeply visualize
your blood cells happy and free.
If you take Propranolol, a beta-blocker commonly used to
treat anxiety disorders, you'll be pleased to know that a new clinical study
has suggested its ability to prevent cancer. Existing animal and human data has
already hinted at the drug's success in treating a number of tumour types, but
this pioneering clinical research indicates that it could contain
cancer-fighting properties, too.
Since then, medical scientists all over the world have
suspected that this egularly prescribed drug could have other beneficial
properties, as well as treating anxiety, and conditions which affect the heart
rate.
But this new evidence as to the drug's ability to prevent
cancer in our body's cells could be life-changing for people all over the
world. If you take these beta-blockers, you will already know that they're one
of the safest drugs on the market. Not only are they cheap, but they're
incredibly effective at treating conditions that raise your heart rate above
optimum levels - hence their ability to prevent and treat panic attacks in
anxiety sufferers.
Pharmaceutical companies famously don't devote much time or
research into, what scientists call, 'repurposing' existing drugs. Propranolol
is also on the WHO List of Essential Medicines, suggesting that non-cancer
related drugs might perversely be the solution to cancer. Just to add to its
life-changing assets, the evidence surrounding this case study into Propranolol
has also advised that it could prevent 'metastatic cascade' - a global
phenomenon affecting many cancer patients.
Metastatic cascade is the spreading of cancer cells to other
areas of the body, and is unfortunately common in patients post-surgery. This
is a revolutionary step forwards for medicine, as preventing the spread of
cancer could ultimately save millions of lives.
Like every prescription drug, it can cause side effects, and
also be potentially harmful if mixed with other medications, so you should
never take it without consulting a doctor or pharmacist first.
